Hello ladies and gents and all of you intrepid seekers of knowledge. My name is George Bonelli, the founder of sale time, and welcome to the experience sharing podcast. I will be your host as we kick off our journey delving into the sharing economy and all that this evolving and growing industry has to offer. First things first, I want to share that I'm hopeful that any and all listeners are safe and healthy. Ideally, you've been able to find ways to take advantage of this unprecedented time that the COVID-19 pandemic has created by learning something new, following up on a passion that you've long delayed, or simply gotten the rest you've needed. If you're finding it hard during these times, I'm glad that you've been able to find us here and that we can provide even a brief respite from the new and unusual daily routines that sheltering in place. Stay at home orders or whatever your local reality is created for you.

This is episode number one. I want to make it short and sweet.

Give you a quick taste of what we're planning to bring to our audience going forward. In the experience sharing podcast, we are planning to number one, focus our attention on the sharing economy and its pros and cons. Number two, share experience and insights to those that are either new or experienced consumers of these kinds of services, those that are interested in what goes on under the hood and how businesses like this might operate, and others that might want to jump in and possibly start a business or whatever areas that might attract you to this topic. Number three, will dig into every corner of the sharing economy and touch on the many facets and verticals from both a macro and micro point of view. And lastly, number four, we'll endeavor to provide the pros and cons of using these services and do so in as neutral a way as possible. So you can put on your critical thinking hats and walk away with information that you can use.

The story arc we're planning for this early stage in the life of this podcast, which of course is subject to change is to begin with a couple of earliest

Besides getting to know your host and establishing my credibility as an early innovator in this space, in order to accomplish this, I'll focus attention on sale time, the business that I founded in 2001, before the sharing economy was even the glimmer in anyone's eye.

Through a one on one and expert guest interview format, you'll experience in depth discussions, Q and A's case studies, which will begin to build the cornerstones of knowledge in this exciting industry. Based on what we've actually seen and experienced firsthand and how things have changed over the years as this growing and evolving industry has snowballed showing no signs of slowing down in the future is actually accelerating.

We will then look to expand out from our humble sailing beginnings to power voting, large yachts, lodging, flying clothes, transportation, fractional ownership, and the many other areas that sharing has touched in our lives. And ultimately, we'll look forward and provide expert points of view on where we believe the sharing economy is headed, who's doing it well, and who's going to lead the way

It's important to note that the value of experiences has increased greatly. Just last year, Forbes published a piece on why Millennials are leading the way and are joined by most every other generational cohort. In valuing experiences over ownership. It makes perfect sense. The average consumer does not have unlimited discretionary income. They are typically always making trade offs in their lives. With family time a premium. It's no wonder that experiencing time on the water on a boat or gaining access to the type of car that's out of your budget, or any other myriad sharing models that exist have gained significant traction.

These service offerings can help anyone enhance their lifestyle without sacrificing their hard earned cash. And as a result, deploy that cash in so many other ways. accumulating markers of wealth no longer have the value they once had,

as a result of significant financial trauma over the years, think about things like the Bernie Madoff schemes and recessions that have hit. several generations have become disillusion

And find that living life for today is much more desirable approach. So, needless to say, it certainly decreases the stress associated with overhead related to debt, maintenance and many other needs that come with ownership. So, we look forward to expanding on this kind of thinking. We're excited to be on this journey with you and hope that we deliver the goods.
